Tom was born at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center at Ramstein Airforce Base in Germany. Tom spent his childhood in Hagerstown MD in the Appalachian Mountains. He received a BS in Psychology as a Pre Medical student at Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA. He and his college friend founded Yunz Industries, a Screen Print and apparel factory in Branford, CT. manufacturing and designing merchandise for Reebok, Puma, D.A.R.E., Polo, his own brand ResortWorks tourism industry clothing and retail stores, and a Reebok sublicensee of MLB, NHL, and NFL.
Tom then began a business consultancy to the industry. He was hired by a customer, where he became V.P. of Marketing and Design. With the other board members, they arranged to buy the company through an ESOP, making the employees of the company the owners. Moving to Inverness in 2015, Tom teamed up with Max, his business partner, to map every hiking, biking, and kayaking trail. With the help from local experts in Citrus County, they wrote 3 trail guidebooks. More recently they have written and published a trail guidebook book of the Cross Florida Greenway trails.
Tom has been a member of the following boards: Volunteer Advisor - Small Business Development Council at UCF in Orlando, Board Member - Withlacoochee State Trail, Festival Director - Inverness Fine Art Festival, Volunteer Advisor - Technology and Communications - Philly Truce (AntiViolence) Foundation, COO - Treasures of the Trails where he is Author, Designer, and Publisher, Board member - Tourist Development Council representing Inverness.
Tom has been an advocate for healthy living and outdoor recreation having been on a swim team starting at the age of 6, piloting airplanes at the age of 16, racing motocross, and running cross country in high school. Diving, hiking, biking, and kayaking have become his go to outdoor activities since moving to Inverness.
