The City of Inverness water supply is obtained from the Floridian Aquifer.  The Public Works Department is responsible for water quality and to maintain the water and sewer lines.

By payment of annual property taxes, City residents receive two weekly garbage pickups, plus one day a week yard waste pickup.  Read more about waste removal for city residents.

This small but picturesque cemetery dates back to the 1800's and continues to be a final resting place for former area residents.

County Services provides our sheriff and fire services via contracts with the county.
Education for K-12 is served by the Citrus County School District.  Maps to determine school designation are also available.
Advanced technical schooling is available from Withlacoochee Technical Institute.
Degrees are available from College of Central Florida in Lecanto.
Libraries are overseen by the county.  There are several libraries within Citrus County; one of which is in the City of Inverness.
Vehicle licensing and property assessment information can be obtained from the County Tax Collector office.
Marriage licenses, passports, jury duty and legal forms are available from the County Clerk of Court office.
Voter registration is done through the Supervisor of Elections office.
Copies of birth or death certificates can be obtained from the Citrus County Health Department.
