City of Inverness Election Information - 2010
The City of Inverness City Council Elections will take place November 2, 2010 in conjunction with the General  Elections.  Council Seats # 1, #3, #5, and the Mayor's Seat, are up for election this term.

VOTER REGISTRATION
If you haven’t registered to vote in Citrus County, we encourage you to do so prior to October 4, 2010 as the (County) registration books for the City Election will close at that time. Questions regarding your registration should be directed to the County Supervisor of Elections Office either online or by dialing 352-341-6740.   

ABSENTEE BALLOTS
All Absentee Ballot requests, including those for the City Election(s), will be handled by the County Supervisor of Elections.

EARLY VOTING
Early Voting for the City Elections will be held at the Inverness Government Center, 212 W. Main Street, located at the corner of Main Street & Seminole Ave.  Dates and times are as follows:  

• Monday, October 18, 2010 through Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 8:30am - 4:30pm
• Monday, October 25, 2010 through Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 8:30am - 4:30pm 

VOTING ON ELECTION DAY - November 2, 2010
While the Inverness Government Center/City Hall will be accomodating Early Voting, if you vote on Election Day you must go to the precinct listed on your voter's registration card to complete your ballot.  Even if you are voting the City ballot on Election Day, you must go to the precinct listed on your voter's registration card.  There will be no voting facilities at the Inverness Government Center/City Hall on Election Day. 

CONSIDERING BEING A CANDIDATE FOR INVERNESS CITY COUNCIL?
All candidates considering office must qualify.  Qualifying begins at noon on Monday, August 23 and runs through noon on Friday, August 27, 2010.

If you select to qualify via the petition method, 150 signatures must be obtained and submitted to the County Supervisor of Elections Office no later than Monday, July 26, 2010.  This method will require a candidate to pre-qualify through the City Clerk Office.
