In November 2007, the City of Inverness adopted a Green Local Government resolution developed by the Florida Green Building Coalition.  Adopting this resolution commits the city to a more aggressive approach with respect to public operations and regulations to promote environmental stewardship practices that enhance local energy security, protect natural resources and make development sustainable.
 
While we are excited about  protecting  natural resources, to include energy, water, air and land, it will come at a cost in terms of changing behavior, finding alternative resources and public-funding.
