Christmas Trees Around the Old Courthouse Ceremony

Old Courthouse, Second Floor Courtroom. The Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 5th, in the courtroom on the second floor of the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum.

Inverness Christmas Parade

12:00 p.m. the parade begins. View the parade along Main Street in downtown Inverness. This year’s theme is home for the holidays with elements of travel incorporated into the floats. Sunny Cooter will make an appearance along with the Inverness Festival Queen!

Santa Cinema - Holiday Double Feature!

Courthouse Square, Inverness. Santa is bringing the North Pole to Inverness for an enchanted evening with the showing of two holiday classics Frosty the Snowman and the Polar Express. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for Christmas movies on the Square! There will be fun and surprises for the little ones.  Please support local restaurants, shops and pubs and leave your pets at home. 

Christmas Carol Sing-along and Friday Night Thunder

Inverness Christmas Farmers Market

Celebration of Kwanzaa

Old Courthouse, Inverness. All are invited to the annual Citrus county celebration of Kwanzaa.  Many people do not understand Kwanzaa, and so this day is a teaching, as well as a fun event. The holiday is a celebration of African American Heritage and focuses on the black diaspora.  Although it occurs during the Christmas season, it is not religious.
