Classes
Quilting
Instructor Karol Kusmal offers over twenty years of quilting experience. This program is designed for students of all levels. The class project will be a lap size quilt. The selected quilt material may be pieced by hand or machine for the completed project. Advanced students may opt to choose a more challenging project or bring a project to finish. All classes are held on Monday from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Quilting classes will begin September 13, 2010 and run through November 1, 2010. The cost is $56.00 for the 8 week session.
Sewing
Under the leadership of seamstress Alida Langley students participating in this class will learn all aspects of sewing. Alida will teach students how to alter garments. This 3 hour class is for beginning to advanced students. Sewing classes are held on Wednesday evenings for three hours. The class is held from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The fee for this class is $54.00
A 2 hour class is available from 5:30 to 7:30 on Wednesday evenings. The fee for this class is $36.00.

Introduction to Oil Painting
Instructor Tony Carchia is a master of the "wet on wet" oil painting technique and considers himself a "fun" artist. This class is held the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in our recreation building. Class participants will take their completed art work home at the end of class. All supplies are furnished by the instructor and are included in the registration fee of $36.00
Fishing Workshop
Want to learn about fishing from a world class bass fisherman? Instructor Bud Andrews is a Large Mouth Bass World Champion. Bud has been inducted into the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame due to his championship fishing ability and knowledge. Bud offers a monthly workshop to anyone seeking knowledge about many kinds of fishing. Individual workshops are held the third Friday of each month. Discussions with Bud about both fresh water and salt water fishing, lures, locations, bait and the many fish that are available in our area, takes place during these workshops. The two hour workshop begins at 9:00 am, the fee is $20.00
Zumba
Want to be fit, energized and dance your way to good health? Regular classes will begin on September 2, 2010. Zumba classes will be held on Tuesdays 5:15 to 6:15 and Thursdays from 7:15 to 8:15pm. Join certified instructor Christina DeLisle on either night or both nights for a fun filled hour of Zumba (dance exercise to Latin music).
Pre-registration and payment is required. You may purchase a punch card for either 5 ($25.00) or 10 ($50.00) lessons at a time. Come when you can! Yoga
YOGA
Ready, set...relax. The practice of yoga improves strength, stamina, flexibility, concentration, peace of mind and relaxation. This class is instructed by Lace Blue Mclean. Lace will guide the class, focusing on relaxation, gentle stretching and muscle development. This class is held on Thursday evenings, 5:30 pm-7:00 pm. New participants are always welcome with ongoing open registration. The fee for this class is $25.00 and covers 5 classes.
INTRODUCTION TO YOGA
Come explore the basics of Yoga. This class is for those with little or no yoga experience as well as those who want to strengthen the foundation of their yoga practice. Learn painless ways to create or restore flexibility and strength, improve balance and confidence in your body. Modifications and adjustments will be encouraged to tailor all ages, body types and physical abilities. Introduction to Yoga will be offered Tuesday's from 6:30pm -8:00pm. The fee for this class is $25.00 and covers 5 classes.
Water Fitness
Water Fitness is a refreshing and energetic class held at the pool Monday - Friday mornings from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. The pool is heated during the cooler months of the year.

Individual Tennis Lessons
Tennis Lessons are offered with instructor Lindsay Rodriguez. From the beginner to those participating at the competitive level, all youth are invited to learn the game. Lindsay will work directly with you to accommodate your schedule. The fee for individual instruction is $25.00 per hour or ten (10) lesson for $200.00. The 10 sessions must be redeemed within a 2 month period. All lessons are held at Whispering Pines Park tennis courts.
Racquetball Lessons
Whispering Pines Park now offers Racquetball lessons. Lessons are available for all levels from the beginner to the advance player. Lessons can be prearranged with the instructor. The fee for individual lessons: $30.00 per hour. All lessons are held at the Whispering Pines Park racquetball courts. Please call the park office for more information.
