Liberty Parkpavillionwebresize.jpg
One of three water front parks within the city limits, Liberty Park is located on Lake Henderson and is within walking distance from downtown. This park, which was completed in 2002, has something for everyone to enjoy.

Park Features

With numerous grills and picnic tables, it's the perfect setting for a picnic, either under one of the two pavilions, or down by Lake Henderson in a grassy spot. Afterward, you can walk or ride your bike on the Withlacoochee State Trail, or play a fun game of volleyball on one of our two sand courts.

If you want to enjoy the beauty the lake has to offer, you can launch your canoe or kayak for added fun.

Pavilions may be reserved through the Parks and Recreation Department for a fee of $75.00. Electric service is also available for approved activities for $10 per outlet required.

A Busy Schedule

Aside from numerous community events done here each year, Liberty Park often features weddings,  family reunions and birthday parties.

The park is also host to two popular City-sponsored events; the Patriotic Evening on July 3, and the Great American Cooter Festival in October.

New Addition
In spring 2010, construction on a bandshell and gazebo structure was completed, with plans to accommodate concerts and other entertainment. The 26-ft hexagonal gazebo with ornamental railings and columns has already seen numerous wedding ceremonies under its roof.
