What Do You Think....
A public pool lifeguard is present to provide service to all. Lifeguards are not hired to discipline children for dunking another. If they are spending time doing that, they cannot watch other children who might be struggling to catch a breath. If you've brought children to to the pool, please watch all the children in your care and be prepared to discipline as needed.
Yes, lifeguards can save lives. But if the lifeguard has to be a disciplinarian and a babysitter as well as do their own job, they might not see the baby who fell into the pool while you were distracted with your smartphone or talking to the person sitting near you. A lifeguard being present does not excuse parents from taking care of their children. Exercising responsibility is actually cool! We politely ask that everyone do their part to help prevent a tragedy and make the Inverness public pool the safest around. Pool opens Monday, March 28th; we look forward to seeing you there.
