The City of Inverness will be offering the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification Class from June 2 - 4, 2017(Friday - Sunday) at Whispering Pines City Park Aquatic Facility from 8am until 3:30 pm. Required age for prospective students is 15 years old and you MUST attend all class sessions including the prerequisite skill session. The mandatory prerequisite skill check will be administered on Friday, May 19th from 3:30 - 4:00 pm at Whispering Pines City Park Aquatic Facility.
Lifequarding can be a rewarding job opportunity helping to develop decision making and leadership skills as well as developing a sense of responsibility. The American Red Cross Lifequarding class is designed to give those that successfully complete the course the ability to recognize and respond to emergencies in and around the pool environment. Students will have an understanding of patron surveillance, accident/injury prevention, CPR, AED and first aid as well as many other professional skills.
