Due to the County Landfill closure for the holiday, there will be no sanitation collection that day. Garbage service will resume when the landfill reopens. Your household waste will be collected the next regularly scheduled day for pick-up.

The Seventh Annual Citrus Summer Showdown is scheduled for Saturday, July 12th in Whispering Pines Park. This five kilometer off-road race will be attended by some of the best high school and college runners in Florida and will serve as a summer warm-up for a number of cross country teams. As many as 300 college and high school athletes may enter this event. The race, which begins at 8:00am at the Whispering Pines Park Pavilion, is open to middle, high school and college students as well as all adult age runners….and registration is free up until race day and then entry is available for $5.00.
